Questions and answers

Are you accepting new NHS patients in Hucknall?

Yes, we are currently welcoming new NHS and private patients of all ages. NHS places across Hucknall are in high demand and can fill up quickly, so it is worth getting in touch soon. Call 0115 963 2525 or use our contact form to register.

Where is the practice and how do I get there?

We are at 7 Portland Road, Hucknall NG15 7SL, close to the town centre and Market Place. Hucknall is the northern terminus of NET tram Line 1 and sits on the Robin Hood rail line, so trams and trains link the town with Nottingham and Mansfield, and local buses stop nearby.

Which areas around Hucknall do you look after?

We are a local practice for Hucknall and nearby communities, including Butler's Hill, Broomhill, Linby, Papplewick, Bestwood and Annesley. Patients also travel to us from Bulwell and other parts of north Nottingham.

How much does NHS dental treatment cost?

NHS charges in England for 2026 fall into three bands. Band 1 (£27.90) covers an examination, advice and any X-rays. Band 2 (£76.60) covers fillings, extractions and root canal treatment. Band 3 (£332.10) covers crowns, dentures and bridges. Some patients qualify for free NHS care.

What happens at my first appointment?

Your dentist takes a full medical and dental history, examines your teeth, gums and soft tissues, and takes any X-rays needed. You will get a clear explanation and an agreed plan, including costs, before any treatment begins.

I feel anxious about visiting the dentist. Can you help?

You are far from alone, and we look after many nervous patients. Let us know when you book and we will allow extra time, explain each step and never rush you.

What should I do in a dental emergency?

If you have severe toothache, swelling or a broken tooth, call us on 0115 963 2525 as early in the day as possible so we can try to see you quickly. When we are closed, call NHS 111 for the nearest urgent dental service. Please avoid A&E for dental pain on its own.

Do you offer teeth whitening, Invisalign or dental implants?

Yes. Alongside NHS care we offer private treatments including professional teeth whitening, Invisalign clear aligners and dental implants. Call 0115 963 2525 or request an appointment and we will talk through which option might suit you.
